NY Samuel Group is an eight-month formation program for young men and women (aged 23 – 43). NY Samuel Group provides formation in prayer, self-knowledge and interior freedom. It is for Catholics who already have a relationship with God and who want to grow in prayer and the skills to live a discerning life.

What is NY Samuel Group?

It is for Catholics who already have a relationship with God and who want to grow in prayer and the skills to live a discerning life.

What is the commitment?
Signing up for NY Samuel Group is a serious commitment. Participants must be available and committed to coming to all eight of the monthly meetings. Participants must also be willing to commit to personal daily prayer. Participants are expected to meet monthly with their spiritual director. (Samuel Group connects participants with spiritual directors for those who do not have one already.) Participants are expected to have an open heart, soul and mind to the Ignatian formation they will receive over the eight months.

What is the schedule like?
The day begins at 2:30 and ends at 8:00 pm. It includes a Holy Hour, Mass, talks, and dinner.

Who runs NY Samuel Group?
NY Samuel Group is an apostolate of the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal. The program is based on the Samuel Group program created by the late Cardinal Martini, SJ, of Milan, Italy, and brought to the United States by the Apostles of the Interior Life. The Franciscan Sisters sought and received permission from the Apostles of the Interior Life to run the program in the Archdiocese of New York.
